That would appear to be that for 2005, we've finished our hectic touring schedule (two gigs in five months) and we're back recording and mixing, recording and mixing, recording and mixing and mastering a bit, and writing a bit more. 2005 has been the most difficult year yet for us. Nothing went according to plan, in fact we had hoped to have our new album out in the first half of 2006 (which would mean it would almost be finished by now). However, we're about a year behind schedule. When I say schedule, I mean that there is a scrap of paper somewhere with spidery handwriting that says we should have our album out in early 2006, and that we're out of teabags. We worked hard all year, especially the last three months since Catherine got her voice back working again. we're trawling our way through a long list of songs trying to get them finished and we will be planning some short tours for early next year to try them out on some people. I'm glad this year is ending to be honest, it'll be nice to draw a line under it and move on. Having said that, 2005 was not without its great times. We enjoyed our stays in France, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Manchester. Liverpool won the Champions League (he said, nailing his colours to the mast). I can now say that I've been to Hooters. Stevie had a lucky escape from the law. Mike finally got to record with us in a studio (after two years in the band). Catherine wrote some seriously good songs that you've yet to hear, in fact we all did. There were some good nights around Ireland too, not as many as we're accustomed to though and we'll see more of you next year. And we have some really interesting trips planned too. Fingers crossed for 2006? |
