Forgive me father, it's been (over) a month since my last update.. Hi again, it's been a while since we last wrote of our progress, what we've been doing and what we're planning for the second half of 2005. As you can see, we've done up the place and tis well it's looking. Our thanks to Kev for doing the site and general design work, album and singles etc. All the while we've been recording, writing and planning our strategy to go on more holidays this year, including trips to the States, Czech Republic, maybe the UK and possibly Germany. Apart from that, the odd trip around the block to our favourite haunts would be nice. And did someone say "remix"!!!??? Eh, possibly. We had a good time in Cork and Waterford since I last wrote. On the first night of the shortest tour in history we were in An Brog. We enjoyed playing, but sound problems were the order of the day we're told. Not that we were aware of that at the time of course, isn't it always the way? We're working on it Lord, just give us a fucking break now and then and let us all be heard together. The gig was well received in spite of this, but it always makes you think what if they had been able to hear the subtle nuances like THE LEAD VOCAL? We stayed in a less than luxurious but comfortingly clean hotel, watched that Metallica documentary "Some Kind of Monster" and laughed usser asses off. Had a good feed early doors as Big Ron would say (before he was exposed as a racist and given the old 'eave 'o), then went back to bed. Just as I was drifting off, (I had reached what in medical science is termed the "alpha state", the state of complete relaxation between wake and sleep from where we got our name) bored Mike started knocking on the door, causing a fuss and stormed in like a bus full of american tourists in a quiet country pub (or something). Bastard. He then put London's Burning on the telly for fucks sake. Rather predictably, there was a fire. Happily, the people were saved. Drummers need constant nurturing and attention, bless em. We finished off our exhausting two day schedule in Waterford the next night, a place by the name of Geoffs. This was part of the Murphy's Live competition. We played with Duped and Dae Kim. Duped were very good, but twas Dae Kim that stole our hearts/ears and we heartily recommend them. Looking forward to seeing them again. We played really well (if I do say so myself), sold quite a few albums which is always a good sign. We headed home thinking it's a shame we've not been gigging more this year, it would have been nice to fit a few more in but alas it looks like it'll be June before we get out again to do some shows. There's only so much we can fit in, and we need to concentrate our efforts on bright shiny new things for, oh I dunno, like, six weeks. Maybe seven. Anyway, enough of that, take a look around why don't you? Let us know what you think - and if you haven't already - feel free to buy things from our shop. There's probably a few things to be added but it's only a matter of time... |
